Community Involvement Programs

Here are some great ways to support Hangar 25 Air Museum, and have fun at the same time. Your involvement will reward you with community spirit as you honor our veterans, educate our youth, and financially support our fundraising efforts.

EAA Young Eagles Program

The Young Eagles Program is sponsored by the EAA. The Big Spring Young Eagles annual event for 2008 was again hosted by Hangar 25 Air Museum and took place on May 17th. Young Eagles offers area children between the ages of 8 to 17, the opportunity to experience, free of charge, the thrill of flight. Each Young Eagles flight takes place in an FAA registered aircraft flown by a licensed pilot from our area. This is an annual event so if you missed it this year, check back early in May next year.

Veteran of the Month Program

Hangar 25 Air Museum is proud of all of our nationŐs veterans. In honor of these extraordinary men and women who served our country, Hangar 25 created the Veteran of the Month program. Each month we honor a veteran from our local area who has been nominated by our community. We record each honoree's oral history, and hold a reception where each has the opportunity to share his or her story with friends, family and the community. If you are interested in nominating a veteran for our Veteran of the Month program, you can contact us or stop by the museum for a nomination form.

Kid's Klub Summer Program

An integral part of sustaining any museum comes from the development of youth programs. This has been proven each year by the strong and dedicated support by our community. Throughout the week, the youngsters who attend, learn about various aspects of history, patriotism and preservation, through crafts and projects. For 2009, look for pre-registration to begin in May.
