Historic Sites in Big Spring
Potton House The Potton House is located at 200 Gregg Street. Joseph Potton, a native of England, became a master mechanic for the Texas & Pacific Railroad. In 1901 he commissioned architect S. B. Haggart and Son, of Fort Worth, to design this victorian home of red Pecos sandstone. The colors chosen for the ornate trim were the colors of the T&P. This residence is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and is under the care of the Big Spring Heritage Museum. Check out: Potton House photos.
