The AT-11 was used by the Army Air Corps at numerous bombardier training schools across the country from 1942 to 1945. Like the C-45 transport and the AT-7 navigation trainer, the AT-11 was a military version of the Beechcraft model 18 commercial transport and 1,600 were built. The aircraft is powered by two Pratt & Whitney R-985 radial engines, rated at 450 horsepower each. This aircraft is owned by Loren Buss of Colorado, who donated the aircraft maintenance logs dating from WWII, when the aircraft was stationed at Big Spring AAF Bombardier School.

The AT-11 is a twin engine, propeller driven aircraft capable of speeds of 215 mph with a service ceiling of 20,000 feet. This aircraft on display at the Hangar 25 Air Museum is in flying condition and is on loan from Russell Madden of Denton, TX.
